Scenic Beauty and Fun in Four Seasons

Connecticut is your playground — with over 100 state parks, 30 state forests, 332 miles of sandy coastline, and everything in between.  It offers the perfect balance of adventure and ease with standout attractions, outdoor escapes, and countless ways to explore, unwind, and feel at home.

That quality of life shines year-round with four distinct seasons, each bringing its own kind of beauty: striking spring blooms, warm and sunny summer days, brilliant fall foliage, and storybook winter snow.

Water activities galore await you in the warm months, whether you’re into sailing, kayaking, canoeing, or rafting. The state offers hundreds of miles of trails for hiking and biking, including about 50 miles of the Appalachian Trail in its northwest corner. Fishing, in both fresh and salt water, will yield catch like trout, bass, fluke, and bluefish.

Fall is not to be missed in Connecticut, where you can view gorgeous colors from hundreds of interesting and unique vantages, thanks to the range of destinations and attractions here. The state has the longest fall foliage season in New England thanks to our diversified terrain and variety of trees, offering even more opportunities to see and experience the autumn beauty.

As the snow starts to fall, you can get your winter on all over the state, with options for snow sports like skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, and snow tubing. Shred the slopes at Powder Ridge, Mohawk Mountain, Mount Southington, or Ski Sundown, or glide along the snow at Winding Trails Cross-Country Ski Center in Farmington or White Memorial Foundation in Litchfield.
