In Connecticut, Taniqua found the right place to grow her impact—and her life.
Taniqua Huguley set out to make the impossible feel possible for the next generation. As the founder and CEO of Black Girls Achieve, she leads an enrichment and leadership-development program for girls in grades 6–12, giving them the tools, confidence, and support they need to navigate Black girlhood and grow into the leaders, students, daughters, and friends they’re meant to be.
Her impact is personal and deeply rooted in community. And she found the right home for that work in Connecticut — a place she describes as welcoming, diverse, and full of opportunity. Here, she’s built connection: a new church home, access to nature and bike paths, local beaches, great restaurants, and a community that feels both vibrant and grounded.
For Taniqua, Connecticut offers the balance to live, work, play, and pray, and the space to build something bigger than she ever imagined. Watch her story.
